Petua Tambah Susu Badan

How to actually increase your milk production? I've gathered several tips from a few sources which could be helpful to most of us who are looking for ways to increase milk production. If some of you got more tips/ petua, share la ye. Hope you would get some benefit from this entry. :)

Direct Feeding and Pumping

  • Kerapkan direct feeding when you are with your baby
  • Pump at least 15 to 30 minutes consistently every 2/3 hours (pumping session per day would be 6 to 8 sessions), tak kisahlah kalau dapat 0.5oz pun, sbb by theory, more demand, more supply
  • Power pumping (PP) - If your milk production drop, try do PP sampai milk production increase. For faster result, try to do around 1am-5am (this time the prolactin hormone sgt tinggi) everyday sampai you could see ade perubahan, susu increase up to your normal production. Caranya, pump 15-20 minutes, rest 15-20 minutes (repeat the session sampai 1 hour). Selalunya dlm 1 week you could see good result, stop PP & maintain direct feeding and normal pumping (every 2/3hours).
  • Use double pump (pump yg ade 2 corong utk both breast) for good result. I heart my Medela FS. Tp ade je yg berjaya express milk guna tgn (not using any breast pump). I really(zillions x) RESPECT la diorg nih and one of them is my office colleague.

Supplements

Rohani

  • Baca surah al Baqarah ayat 60, sambil baca letakkan tangan pada breast tu.
  • Baca surah surah al-Hujurat
  • Selalu berzikir sebanyak mungkin (eg. Ya Matin, Ya Latif)
  • Selalu buat Solat Sunat Taubat & Solat Hajat
  • Tawakkal kepada Allah SWT dan berharap susu keluar dan cukup untuk baby

Food

  • Lobak Putih dan Merah
  • Sawi
  • Pegaga
  • Daun pucuk betik
  • Jantung pisang
  • Cekur Manis
  • Kacang Hijau - bubur kacang hijau
  • Kacang Tanah
  • Daun Kucai
  • Petola
  • Bayam
  • Daun turi - masak lemak manis
  • Kurma
  • Rolled Oat
  • Menurut Kak N, enjoy to eat food that you like, bila happy, sure increase milk production

Drinks

  • Susu - Susu Anmum Breastfeeding.
  • Air masak (suam) – before and after menyusu atau pump drink a glass/mug of warm water
  • Longan Kering - samada dibuat jus (rebus dgn air & gula batu) atau dimakan begitu sahaja
  • Halba - rendam dan minum airnya, buleh juga telan sesudu kecil ngan air suam, buleh juga ditambah dlm apa2 masakan (eg curry)
  • Oat
  • Milo
  • Nestum
  • Horlicks
  • Air rebusan buah pala
  • Carrot susu
  • Jus pegaga
  • Soya
  • Jus Kurma
  • Madu

Urutan or Massage

  • Gentel n*pple dlm 1-2 minutes every 1 hour every day. Before pump or breastfeed gentel 15 seconds. This is practised and advised by Dr Ju, Alam Hamil.
  • Sikat n*pple setiap hari, baca selawat pastu sikat dari atas ke n*pple, right and left
  • Cuci n*pple dengan berus gigi so that liang2 puting susu tersumbat
  • Before pumping, amik kedua belah tangan urut dari atas breast, terus lurutkan ke bawah (baca selawat dulu ye :) )
  • Sapukan sedikit minyak kelapa pada daun sirih. Then, layurkan pada api sehingga layu. Setelah suam, tekapkan pada breast (buleh buat everyday)
  • Bunga melur digiling hingga halus dan ditampal sekeliling breast waktu pagi before mandi
  • Kobis bulat - ambil 2 kelopak daunnya dan tekap ke breast, atau lenyek2 pastu tampal pada breast, cara nih buleh juga kurangkan bengkak susu masa dlm pantang

Pills (drug pills to increase prolactin hormone) - not advisable unless dah terdesak sgt2)

  • Domperidone
  • Maxolon
  • Metoclopramide
  • Motilium
  • Raglan
  • Note: Please get advice and correct prescription from doctor or pharmacist before consuming or even purchasing the pills (they might give you negative side effects with improper consumption) I’ve consumed all of the above except Raglan (before jumpa n fall in love with Shaklee). Not suitable with me since I was under depression and emotional imbalance for a few days. So I stopped.

Psychology

  • Selalulah think positive untuk menyusukan baby. Kalau rasa susu semakin kurang tetapi baby baru je berumur beberapa minggu, jangan cepat panic. Breastfeed mcm biasa.
  • Masa kat office dan masa pumping, imagine or bayangkan wajah our baby. This could stimulate pengeluaran susu.
  • Semakin kerap menyusukan anak, semakin banyak susu. Kosongkan payudara anda bermakna menghantar isyarat bahawa susu perlu dihasilkan lagi.
  • Jangan stress dan sentiasa jaga kesihatan badan - don't forget to get sufficient supplements ye :)

ive read this entry and i found it very useful. My breast milk dropped drastically since 3 weeks ago and its really stress me up..hope by reading and practicing these tips will be beneficial to us...tqvm...=) happy breastfeeding !
